Description

Oz Whale Watching is a division of Sydney Princess Cruises which has been operating on Sydney Harbour for over 12 years. The owners of the business, and their crew, are passionate about cruising on and around Sydney Harbour. They delight in showing guests the abundance of marine life that inhabits the area.

Seeing these giant mammals of the sea has the ability to change your whole view on life. The gracefulness, the peacefulness, the playfulness, the curiosity, the showmanship and the awesome power of a humpback whale is something everyone should witness in their lifetime.

Whale watching is an exhilarating adventure, seeing these incredible creatures frolicking and swimming in the ocean is an awe-inspiring treat that you will remember forever! Breaching, tail slaps, spy hopping, fluke dives and peduncle throws are all some of the great moves you may see from the whales on their migrations. The whale population is increasing each year and and this year there is 16,000 plus whales expected to migrate past Sydney, which gives great opportunity to see them as Sydney is on their migration routes. Whale watching season runs from May-November. During May - August the whales are on their Northern migration to Tropical North Queensland and then from mid August - September they are on their southern migration back to the Antarctic along with their new born calves, the little calves are just gorgeous.

This is the only whale watching tour operator in Sydney Harbour who offer an excellent half day tour including a BBQ lunch, specialising in whale watching tours. You will hear informative commentary and be taken care of by the fully trained and expert crew on-board.

You will also receive our 100% Guarantee that if you don't see whales you will be offered a return trip free of charge for use during the current season (Conditions apply). Join us for this year's Whale Watching season as we marvel at the Whales spouting and swimming in the tranquil waters off Sydney. These great value whale watching tours cater to all ages and children are very welcome. Get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures of the sea.

News

The first day of our 2013 whale watching season started sensationally for Northern Beaches residents and our Oz Whale Watching guests with a close encounter of lone juvenile humpback whale making its way north to the Barrier Reef. The opening of the season couldn’t have gone better with 40 passengers, 4 crew including our onboard marine biologist “Cassie” who was there to answer everyones questions and inform the educate the guests on these magnificent animals. After enjoying a BBQ lunch and then leaving Sydney Harbour shortly after rounding North Head we spotted the humpback approximately 100m off North Head
